In this lecture we talked about photography and how it can be used as a form of documentation and not just a form of medium. Throughout the lecture we talked about how photography was used not for propaganda but for educational used by showing us the history of the world, back when photography was first introduced it was mainly used as a form of documentation because it was much quicker and accurate than a painting.
Many photographers thought that the camera can give people powerful messages so they began to stage some scenes or wait for the most opportune moment rather than capturing the action as it's happening. This made it hard to figure out which images was real or fake but they still had powerful messages behind then, an example of this is "Shell Shock Soldier" by Don McCullin because its obviously taken in a war zone and you can see the horror/terror in the man's face. This photograph would be as powerful if it didn't have a title on it where as some may need titles so that the viewer can understand the situation.
